What is the difference between Memory and Ordinary foam?

Memory foam is heat and pressure sensitive. It feels firm when it is cold and soft when it is warm. Polyurethane (ordinary) foam does not have the capability to respond to temperature - it makes no difference whether you sleep in a warm or cold environment.

Memory foam also has pressure-relieving properties - If you put pressure onto its surface it will leave an impression for several seconds after you relinquish this pressure. This ability to remember this pressure has given rise to the description "Memory foam".

Ordinary (Polyurethane) foam regains its original shape immediately after the pressure has been removed, as it has no inherent ability to memorise the pressure applied. Because of its unique formulation, memory foam has the ability to absorb and memorise these downward forces as well as creating minimal upward pressure.

Why is Memory foam so special and how will it benefit me?

Memory foam is a unique material that has the ability to react to heat. It also has revolutionary pressure relieving properties. It was originally developed in support of the NASA space program to aid in the protection of astronauts from the harmful effects of G-forces. It wasn't long before Medical science recognised the potential of this unique material's properties for relieving the pressures created by the human body in its relaxed state. It is now widely used in major hospitals and health centres on a global basis.

The memory foam will react to your own body shape and temperature, cradling your body and providing support where it most important. Minimal upward pressure diminishes the need to toss and turn as much during the night just to get comfortable. A reduction in the pressure on your body results in improved circulation, a reduction in the force on pressure points and a relaxing night's sleep. By sleeping on a memory foam surface you are giving yourself the best possible chance of a great nights sleep.

Will your Memory foam mattress cure my back problem?

If you suffer from back trouble or circulation problems then a memory foam mattress will aid in alleviating this problem. By giving your body the support it needs during the night you should awake feeling more refreshed. Lower back pain caused by a soft mattress could gradually ease and eventually disappear. Chronic short-term back trouble caused by muscle strain can make turning over during the night an agonising experience. The reduction in the need to turn during the night results in your back will have more time to relax, and may help significantly to reduce back pain during the day.

Is memory foam hygienic to sleep on?

Our Memory foam products are fully sanitised, which means that all our products are anti-microbial and have preventive qualities against dust-mites. This makes our memory foam ideal for people with a wide range of allergies.

Will sleeping on memory foam make me feel warm during the night?

Memory foam will not actually make you feel any warmer although but it does have the ability to retain your body heat more efficiently than an ordinary mattress. Always try to keep your bedroom well ventilated and not too warm. This is widely recognised by most medical bodies in helping to create the ideal sleeping environment for a better night's sleep.

Does the memory foam supplied by Memory Mattress Spain meet the essential numerous safety & health Regulations?

All the memory foam products that we supply conforms fully to all the current UK legislation and conforms with all current EU and Spanish directives, relating to this type of product.

Will my mattress need turning?

No. Memory foam mattresses do not need to be turned. However you may rotate the mattress from time to time if you wish.

Can an electric blanket be used?

Long term use of an electric blanket can break down the memory foam cells, but is generally OK to use one, to simply warm the bed but not leave it on all night.

Does it have a mattress cover?

Yes. Our memory mattresses come with a washable removable zipped cover and looks like any other mattress in appearance.

Are these mattresses suitable for adjustable beds?

They are suitable in the great majority of cases. The memory mattress will conform to the underlining base.

Why do Memory foam mattresses vary so much in price?

Where do we start to explain this! All markets are complex - but here are our views:- 1. One of the major factors is the cost of brand, image and full advertising. Advertising in international/national publications/ radio/ TV is extremely expensive. You will find that the higher profile companies charge more for their products in order to recoup these investments..

2. Some companies offer memory foam mattresses at an attractive price but cut back on their core products specifications to keep their prices down and their profits up. For example, ensure that the covering fabric is a "two way" stretch fabric allowing the foam to move and is made substantially enough to stand up to the wear that it will get over the years. Can the cover be removed for cleaning if needed?

3. Is there an adequate depth of high-density memory foam on the mattress? A mattress can still be classed as a memory foam mattress even if it has a very thin layer of memory foam on the top. Ensure that you do your research on what you are actually buying, alternatively :- Just trust us to deliver the highest quality products at the best value for money, backed by our money back guarantees.

4. Many traditional retailers have to support the overheads of showrooms/ stores, sales staff and all the costs associated with that type of enterprise. WE concentrate on great products, great prices, first class customer service and the advantages of adopting new technology. This results in the best deal for you - the customer.
